Winter may bring cosy nights and festive cheer, but it also brings dry air, cold winds and a dull complexion. We caught up with mindset coach Izzy Utterson, who has a passion for all things wellness, to explore her expert tips to combat winters harsh effects on your skin.

What do you recommend for reviving dull skin? 

I think it’s so important to glow from the inside out, first focusing on hydration, proper nutrition, sleep and of course cultivating a positive mindset- one which we hugely underestimate. Applying creams will only do so much if you’re not focusing on that inner glow!

 

What are your winter go to skincare products to get the glow

I’m loving Azelaic Acid at the moment the Inkey List 10% Azelaic Acid, and Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask for a burst of hydration. I’m also slathering my face in Tatcha’s overnight cream which is like silk on your skin!

   

 

Any vitamin recommendations to keep a healthy complexion during the winter months?

I personally take Omega 3, Vitamin C and Vitamin A as they were recommended to me by my dermatologist. 

 

Nutrition musts for the winter glow?

A variety of colours on your plate throughout the week for optimal gut health and to ensure you’re getting the right vitamins and minerals for that ‘glow’, a focus on protein at every meal, and proper hydration- I love to make a loaded morning water with electrolytes, colostrum, collagen and l-glutamine for all the skin loving glow giving benefits!
